Defilement is any sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 18 years old, whether or not the child consents. It is a crime under the Sexual Offences Act.
Rape is unlawful sexual activity and usually sexual intercourse carried out forcibly or under threat of injury against a person’s will or with a person who is beneath a certain age or incapable of valid consent because of mental illness, mental deficiency, intoxication, unconsciousness, or deception.
The Centre for Counter Fraud Awareness (CCFA) is committed to raising awareness through its preventive programme for schools initiative where schools are visited and children and youths are exposed to the dangers associated with rape.
