Daniel Nwanyanwu is a Nigerian politician, businessman, and lawyer who served as the
chairman of the Labour Party from 2004 to 2014. He has a background in banking,
having worked with Union Bank between 1979 and 1993 and held various roles
within the National Union of Banks, Insurance and Financial Institutions
Employees (NUBIFIE), including National Treasurer and National President. He
also served on the National Executive Council of the Nigeria Labour Congress.
He pursued further education, earning a law degree and a Master's in Law and
practiced law under the mentorship of Frederick Rotimi Williams. In 2004, he
was appointed as the leader of the “Party for Social Democracy”, which later
became the Labour Party. Under his leadership, the party secured the
governorship of Ondo State with Olusegun Mimiko.
