The Nigeria Customs Service arrested five persons suspected to be notorious dealers of illicit substances. They were arrested by operatives of the service attached to Seme Area Command.
The suspects were also allegedly involved in the smuggling of illegal items such as bags of rice, vegetable oil and foreign poultry products, among others.
Also recovered were 68 parcels of Tramadol valued at NGN981,000 and 10 parcels of weeds suspected to be cannabis from suspects who had attempted to move them into Nigeria from Benin Republic.The suspects allegedly hid the illicit substances under bales of used cloths also known as “Okrika”.
