Recently, the Center had the honor of being hosted by the erudite Professor Muhammed Tawfiq Ladan, the Director General of the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (NIALS).
This visit presented an opportunity for both organizations to explore potential areas of collaboration. Given our shared commitment to leveraging research and data for the promotion of good governance, we believe that a partnership with NIALS will significantly advance our mutual objectives.
The NIALS, with its mandate to drive legal research and education, is ideally positioned to complement our efforts at the Center. Together, we aim to deepen the adoption and implementation of the Center’s civil society monitoring mechanism for Nigeria’s adherence to the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC). We are also excited about the possibility of expanding the reach of the Transparency and Integrity Index across federal institutions, as well as state and local government areas.
We look forward to working with NIALS towards achieving our collective research capabilities, and also, contribute to the transparency, accountability, and integrity of governance in Nigeria.
